Independent primary care practices are valued contributors to the vaccination channel in the State of Michigan.  However, supply and distribution channel challenges are resulting in longer than expected timelines for distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine to approved primary care practices.

Therefore, messaging with patients not to wait until you, their primary care physician, has COVID-19 vaccine is key.  The state recommends encouraging patients to access vaccine through all approved channels. OSP has prepared, and maintains, a dedicated COVID-19 vaccine webpage with helpful information for our affiliated physicians.  The page includes information such as:

• Direct phone numbers and emails for local county health departments
• How to register for vaccine through approved pharmacy networks (i.e. Meijer)
• Steps to register your primary care practice to distribute vaccine
• Quick links with patient education/informational material
