At the beginning of January, Blue Care Network (BCN) experienced two system errors that affected member assignments to some primary care physicians.

• PCP assignments: Their system assigned some BCN members to a new primary care physician in error. They corrected the error January 26, 2022, reassigning the members back to their original PCPs.
• Metro Detroit network issue: Some of the PCPs whose participation in the Blue Cross Metro Detroit HMO network ended December 31, 2021, were inadvertently listed as still being active in that network in the month of January. BCN corrected the error on January 31, 2022.

Some physicians in Oakland Southfield Physicians (OSP) were impacted by these errors. BCN has mailed letters to each physician who had one or more of their members involved in these situations.
