Blue Cross Complete Updates to Authorization Requirements

Blue Cross Complete (BCC) recently updated plan notification and authorization requirements. A brief summary of the changes includes:

  • Effective May 1, 2022, BCC will require prior authorization from National Imaging Associates Inc., a subsidiary of Magellan Health, to manage non-emergency outpatient diagnostic services under NIA’s Medical Specialty Solutions program.
  • Colonoscopy and upper endoscopy removed from surgical and diagnostic procedures; effective May 1, 2022, authorization isn’t required.
  • Removed sacroiliac injections - authorization isn't required.
