Michigan Collaborative for Type 2 Diabetes: Affording Type 2 Diabetes Care Toolkit
Posted: 07/18/2022
The mission of the Michigan Collaborative for Type 2 Diabetes (MCT2D) is to work with primary care physicians to prevent and reverse the progression of type 2 diabetes. One of MCT2D’s key initiatives is the increased prescribing of GLP-1 and SGLT-2 inhibitors for diabetes management. The recently released “Affording your Type 2 Diabetes Care: A Patient Toolkit on Insurance Coverage and Cost” is a helpful guide to assist patients with navigating insurance for better coverage of these medications. The toolkit provides topics such as “What to ask your insurance company”, copay cards for private/commercial insurance, patient assistance programs for Medicare Part D, and senior savings programs for Medicare Part D. This resource can be located in MCT2D’s website, mct2d.org, or by clicking on this link.
