Step Therapy is a utilization tool that requires a trial of other drugs to treat the medical condition before HAP will cover the non-preferred drug. Step therapy requirements apply to certain Part B drugs for HAP Medicare and HAP Empowered MI Health Link members. Currently, HAP has Step Therapy in place for the non-preferred drugs listed below.
