OSP is working with a system which gives consumers that ability while working within the framework of care provided by their primary care physician.
This is a Web-based system that provides a secure means of communication between patients and their doctors. It gives them access to a trusted library of medical information developed by leading medical societies, the AMA and patient advocacy groups. And it allows them to maintain personal health records doctors can use for their visits to the office. Each patient has complete control over his/her health account in compliance with HIPPA privacy mandates.
How it works
The system sets up a customizable Web site for each physician group. It features:
- Practice-specific videos to inform patients of procedures or care instructions
- A comprehensive library of peer-reviewed articles, learning centers and education resources for your patients, developed by leading medical societies, the AMA and patient advocacy groups
- Updated news and specialty alerts
Patients have access to a Secure Messaging System to communicate with their doctors. It gives them the ability to:
- Request appointments
- Renew prescription
- Ask questions about bills or records
- Receive lab results electronically
The system facilitates Online Consultations. Doctors can use these to provide follow-up care or ongoing instructions to patients. Patients logged into the system can create a personal health record (PHR) to prepare for appointments or simply monitor their own care.
