In January 2018, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services will implement the first phase of the Community Health Automated Medicaid Processing System Modernizing Continuum of Care project. As part of the project, Medicaid Health Plans, regardless of provider type, are required to enroll in CHAMPS. Effective January 1, 2018, claims for providers who are not enrolled in CHAMPS will deny or not appear on a remittance advice.
